On Nov. 30, 2019, Logan Guise, a Pine-Richland senior was recognized for earning the highest rank in Boy Scouts, Eagle Scout. A scout who earns the rank of Eagle Scout demonstrates scout spirit, leadership and community service. An Eagle Scout must also complete an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads and manages.
Logan’s Eagle Project was to build two swim lesson water stands for use at the Cranberry YMCA, where he is a life guard and swim lesson instructor. The stands can be placed in deep water to allow young children learning to swim to stand confidently while the instructor is working with others in their class. Upon graduation from high school, Logan plans to pursue a degree in Elementary and Special education at Grove City College with hopes to study abroad and eventually teach locally.
