Searching for Camp Umbstaetter scouts….

If you or a family member spent time at Boy Scout Camp Umbstaetter, Bell Acres Borough would like to hear from you. Between 1924 &1949, scouts from across the state spent summers at this 105-acre camp on Turkeyfoot Road that is now part of the Bell Acres Nature Park.
One of the camp’s popular features was a man-made lake with a replica pirate ship! Area residents will remember using the former camp’s swimming pool while it was operated by the Ambridge Greek American Progressive Association. While the campsites, pool, dining hall and other structures are gone, memories of those fun filled summers remain. If you are able to share stories, memories & photos from those times, please contact Bell Acres Borough.
