Pine-Richland students earn Scholastic Art Awards

Several Pine-Richland High Schools students earned Regional Scholastic Art Awards. Of the 27 awards earned by 17 PRHS students, six were “Gold Key” Awards.
Junior Cynthia Chen earned two “Gold Key” Awards, senior Bayli Clack earned a Gold Key Award, along with sophomores Bess Jarosz, and juniors Kate Lindrose and Hailey Rihn. Cynthia also earned two “Silver Key” Awards, and Bayli earned a “Silver Key” Award along with sophomores Allison Andrews and Taylor Cory and seniors Mackenzie Hackel and Carson Heil, junior Kylie Klavon, and seniors Patrick Smith and Morgan Young. Carson and seniors McKenna Exline and Devin McCue earned “Honorable Mentions,” along with seniors Mackenzie Hackel, Brooke Johnson, and Haley Rupprecht. Senior Molly Gaffey earned three “Honorable Mentions,” and Hailey earned two.
Regional award winners will be recognized Feb. 22 in the gymnasium at Community College of Allegheny College North, 8701 Perry Highway. Award winners will also have their artwork displayed within a public exhibit from 4 p.m. Feb. 7 through 1:30 p.m. Feb. 22. “Gold Key” Award winners will have their work reviewed by judges who will consider the work for national recognition.
Students submit their artwork under the direction of PRHS Art Teachers Mary Anne Andreassi, Ramone Riley, and Vince Thearle.
