St. Alphonsus

Harvest Home — a St. Alphonsus Church tradition for more than a century — will kick off Sept. 6 with a 5K in North Park, followed by a dinner and festival Sept. 8 at the Wexford church’s campus.

The Harvest Home Twilight 5K Fun Run/Walk begins at 6 p.m. Sept. 6 with the Fun Run/Walk followed by the 5K at 6:30. Participants gather at Harmar Pavilion, near the North Park Swimming Pool. To register, go to runsignup.com/HarvestHome5K.

The festival opens at 12:30 p.m. Sunday on the church’s campus at 201 Church Road in Wexford. It includes games, raffles, food, entertainment and more.

Diners have a choice of charcoal-grilled half-chicken, ham or pulled pork. The meal includes a variety of hot and cold side dishes, rolls, a slice of pie and beverage. The cost for dine-in is $12 for adults and $6 for children and will be served from 1 to 6 p.m. Takeout dinners cost $12 and are served from 1 to 6:30 p.m.

Proceeds from Harvest Home festivities benefit St. Alphonsus Parish and Blessed Francis Seelos Academy, which was formed when St. Alphonsus and St. Alexis schools merged in 2017.
