Northern Tier Library has events scheduled. If you have questions about the upcoming events at the library, email Jessica Federkeil at federkeilj@einetwork.net or call the library at 724-449-2665. The library is at 4015 Dickey Road, Gibsonia.

• Holiday hours: The library will be open Dec. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will be closed Dec. 25 and 26 for Christmas and at 4 p.m. Dec. 31 for New Year’s Eve.

• New Year’s Eve Disco Party: Celebrate New Year’s Eve in style on Tuesday, Dec. 31. We’ll have a kid-friendly dance party with our very own countdown. The fun starts at 1:30 p.m., and our “midnight” will be at 3. There will be crafts, games, balloons, bubbles and lots of dancing. Registration is required.

• Bridget’s Book Club will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 9. “The Alice Network” by Kate Quinn tells the story of two women — a female spy recruited to the real-life Alice Network in France during World War I and an unconventional American socialite searching for her cousin in 1947.

• Credit Basics will be covered from 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 14. Start the New Year with some financial tips from Northwest Bank. Learn about keeping your accounts secure, the basics of owning a credit card, knowing your credit score, and if there’s time, how to balance a checkbook. This workshop is for teens and adults; registration is required.

• From 7 to 8 p.m. Jan. 23, learn how to let your strengths guide college and career choices. Students and adults are invited to learn from Business and Education Connected, a career development service. Uncover how to use your unique strengths and interests to plan for possible careers and postsecondary education. Registration is required.
