Crisis Center North is promising “a night for foodies who care” at its 12th annual fundraising event “Cocktails & Cuisine” from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday May 17 at The Woodlands Foundation’s campus in Bradford Woods.
The event, which raises money for Crisis Center North’s mission to assist victims of domestic violence, features samples from 18 of the region’s leading restaurateurs, spirit purveyors and dessert specialists.
There also will be auctions for prizes including trips to Canada’s Banff National Park, the Hawaiian Islands, Ireland and Italy.
The emcee for the event will be Peggy Finnegan, a longtime news anchor with WPXI-TV.
Entertainment for the evening will be provided by Pittsburgh jazz vocalist Lisa Bleil, with Benny Benack Jr. on sax, trumpet and clarinet; and John Burgh on piano.
“Every year our community comes together at this remarkable event to celebrate the strides we have made together to end domestic violence,” said Grace Coleman, executive director of the crisis center. “It’s breathtaking to watch this community’s continued commitment to the social change which has transformed thousands of victims to survivors.”
Celebrity cuisine judges will vote on their top picks. This year’s judges are:
• Nan Cohen, a divorce and relationship coach featured on KDKA radio.
• Dr. Shellie Hipsky, CEO of Inspiring Lives International/Inspiring Lives Magazine.
• Doug Oster, editor of the Tribune-Review’s “Everybody Gardens.”
• Stoney Richards, co-host of radio station Y108’s “Y’d Awake” morning show.
Tickets cost $85 per person and include a wine or beer glass and free parking with shuttle service to the venue.
Tickets are available online where there are several other ticket packages from which to choose.
